The Rocket Scientist

Jere's post: Well, actually, he was an Aerospace Engineer, but that is pretty close I think. One of the highlights of our visit to the USS&RC was talking to our children about their Papa's (my Dad's) role in the Space Program. They were thrilled to see the part he helped design on the Saturn V, the connecting ring between stages 1 & 2. There was a database of people who worked on the Saturn V, and they searched for Papa's name. We got to add him and some of his history into the data base! You can see the entry yourself here: https://register.spacecamp.com/memdisplay Not only did my dad bring my family to this museum when I was young, he also brought us to Edwards Air Force base to see the glide test of the Space Shuttle Enterprise. That event was on display at the museum as well. It was a great way to remember my dad just a few days after what would have been his 71st birthday.

  1. The entry didn't show up when I checked for your dad's name! (Nancy)

  2. They will probably review the info Jere entered for accuracy and then post, so maybe it will show up in a couple of days?
