A Day Off @ Windsong

Jere posting: The delightful house on the beautiful farm we have been staying at is called Above All Else @ Windsong. Windsong Arabian Horse Farm, run with TLC by Jim and Sue Doll, could be a vacation destination itself. A day off (from our vacation :) was instore, and this is the perfect place to relax. There are beautiful green pastures, horses, a laughing creek with a rope swing over it, deer sharing the pastures and many other rural delights. Plus, Sue and Jim, sharing their amazing horse farm operation. They raise, train, nurture, board and lease Arabians (there are 40 horses on the farm right now) and provide riding lessons and more to riders and new owners. We were pleased to receive a tour of their operation, including some very old facilities from before the Civil War era. Above All Else is aptly named, as it stands at the top of the property with a view over the Doll's house, the 1850 era barn, horse facilities and pastures. If you asked us if we would recommend this place to others coming to the DC area, we would answer enthusiastically: YES!
